About Me

I'm Subhranil Maity, a B.Tech CSE student from India who loves building things close to the metal and shipping things that actually work.

My interests sit at the intersection of systems programming and practical software — I write Rust when I want things fast and correct, Kotlin when I'm building for Android, and TypeScript when the web needs to cooperate. I've written a web server in C, trained neural networks from scratch in C, and built an email server from the ground up in Rust — because understanding how things work at the foundation makes you a better builder at every layer above it. I also genuinely enjoy recreational programming: sometimes the point of a project is just the joy of figuring something out. Some things I've made: LunarLink, a suite of tools to control your PC from your phone; WinStow, a fast dotfile manager for Windows; YoMail, an email server built from scratch in Rust; and ghostline — because not everything needs a description to be interesting.

I also build for the web — invoicing tools, anime trackers, real-time apps — and I've spent time on Android development with a handful of Kotlin projects that solve real, specific problems.

I have a YouTube channel at Coded-Horizon where I intend to post videos — but I have a complicated relationship with video editing, so don't be surprised if the upload count doesn't quite reflect the enthusiasm.
